PERIKLES is...

a joint research initiative of GECKO mbH and its partners that addresses challenges in the healthcare domain that call for support by IT solutions. It aims at introducing Business Process Management (BPM) technology into core value-adding clinical processes that are resource-intensive and coordination-centric.

The project was launched in May 2009 and is scheduled to run until the end of April 2011. It is financially supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF, www.bmbf.de) under grant 01IS099009A.

Its main objective is to facilitate the clinician’s process awareness, thereby ultimately enhancing cost efficiency of patient care processes in operating facilities.
